A popular soft, Sport / DK weight cotton yarn with colors and shades that coordinate easily together. Because of the fineness of the strands it is appropriate for ages 12 and up and a good fit for the many projects calling for a Category 2 or 3 weight yarn in the book Crochet for Kids: Basic Techniques and Great Projects Kids can Make Themselves.
Hook and needle size don't need to be exact and can actually vary from project to project. Going smaller will give you a tighter finish and is good for things being stuffed, larger will be looser and can work well for hats, bags, scarves, etc.
