Step-by-step you will learn how to coil and stitch a fragrant, pine needle basket of your own design. Choose from eight easy basketry stitches and a variety of lovely basket shapes. Pine needle basketry is an American folk art with a rich history throughout North America.
Basketry is one of the traditional crafts taught in a Waldorf high school.
Kit includes:
- pine needles
- raffia
- tapestry needle
- biodegradable coiling gauge
- color photo instructions
You supply: water, pot to boil or soak needles, towel, ruler and scissors
Kit makes one 4" - 6" basket
Prepare to spend some time on this project. It could take about 6 hours over several days.
