Description
Joy's Waldorf Dolls Wig Making Instructions is a collection of 13 different hair styles for 13"/14", 16" and 18" tall dolls. If you know the basics of crochet you can take great advantage of Joy's short-cut technique of crocheting a wig cap which gets sewn and tacked to the head and then styled or used as a base for other hairstyles.
The instructions for the short boy cuts are for crocheted caps that can be made or styled in a variety of ways.
The long styles start with a base of a crocheted cap to help hide the scalp. However, if you don't know how to crochet you can skip the cap and sew the prepared bangs or hair directly onto the head as instructed in the booklet.

Crochet is simple to learn and will allow you to make all the techniques in this booklet, giving you more options for hair. We recommend Learn to Crochet which includes links to video tutorials.
There are other ways to make the hair and these are covered in the two doll making books we sell on our website: Making Waldorf Dolls and Sewing Dolls
Instructions for knitting a doll wig can be found on the back of the De Witte Engel Mohair Boucle Yarn label or free online with a search.
